The Dialog.net website has moved to a new server. This Blog is still on the old server which is much less stable at Dialognet.info. A similar thing has happened to the Think.net website whose legacy server is at thinknet.us. All this is being done in the name of stability. The old server just was not stable enough. But of course this does not matter much because I rarely post anything to this blog. But that may change in the future.
I have visited Diigo.com recently and have not seen much use of their site for saving links, not just in the link groups I created but in other areas as well that I am subscribed to over there. I am wondering if their service is catching on or not.
I really like the service myself, I like it much better than Del.icio.us. Their tool bar comes in very handy for saving links in one click and then you can share those links latter if you like.
So I am not sure what the problem is with their service, perhaps Del.iciu.us is just got too much momentum and people do not want to switch.
But, to me Diigo.com, seems to be the superior service.

I heard about this application on geeknewscentral from Todd Cochrane. He said he used this software so I thought I would try it out.
So far installation has gone pretty quickly. So we will see if this post shows up in the dialog.net blog.
I also created groups at diigo.com for podcasting and videocasting which I associated with a page at Lifecaster.net. (see also lifecast.info).
I created groups at diigo.com for the elists philosophy, autopoiesis, heidegger and wittgenstein. Have a look at them if you have time. I think this is a great way for people to research together and to share content related to the elist.
I have been dissatisfied with Yahoogroups for a long time. They have basically allowed spam to destroy the Dialognet elists there. But it did not seem promising to move to Google Groups. So recently there was mention of http://bazaarforums.com and when I checked out the site I saw that it was run by simple machines. So I tried to install simple machines and it was like a dream. It has the functionality of a BBS but is completely transparently on the Web. So I installed it here and placed groups for all my elists in the Forum. So now we will see whether anyone is interested in joining.
